Flower Maintenance
The most important time for the flowers is the first 24 hours. The treatment of the flowers during this time will
effect their longevity. They will absorb half of the water during this time to survive so it is important to add water
upon arrival if required. Flowers must be positioned in a cool place away from draughts. Kept away from heaters TV's
and microwaves. It is also important not to position flowers next to fruit as they give off a gas called Ethylene
which is a ripening agent and this will accelerate the aging of the flowers.
Change the water in vases every two days and at the same time cut approx 1.5 to 2 mm off the end of each stem at a
sharp angle. If you were supplied a flower food with your delivery them add a little to this water change. Flower
arrangements in a box incorporating "brick" only require to be kept wet with water incorporating flower food. Do not
flood this system, stems do not need to be cut as long as they are not in a swamped condition.
Generally flowers should last for 3 to 7 days depending on the type, treatment, temperature and season. Should
your flowers die immediately you must contact us and allow us to recover the flowers and assess the reason for the
failure. With all the best intentions, sometimes Mother Nature does not produce blooms with the staying power we
expect and in these instances we will endeavour to replace them provided you contact us within 48 hours.
